Boys Tournament Rules


 

Our hope is to have Great Player, Coach & Parent Sportsmanship to promote a fun, learning environment for this great game-basketball!

WIAA Rules will be observed, with the following exceptions;

  • There will be 5-10 minute warm-ups allowed, depending on how time is going, as we will try to keep on schedule.
  • We will have 2-20 minute running clock halves, with the clock stopping in the last minute of the first half and last two minutes of the game on dead balls.
  • First Overtime will be 2 minutes in length, with the clock stopping on all dead balls.
  • For the 2nd, 3rd, Etc. Overtime Periods each team will select 5 players to shoot Free Throws, the most scored is the winner.
  • There will be 3 Time-Outs per game, 1 additional in OT, no carryovers.
  • There will be no press defense in 4th & 5th grades until the last minute of the game. There will be a press defense allowed in the last 2 minutes of the game for 6th Grade.
  • Defense will be Man to Man Only.
  • There will be 5 minute half times.
  • Technical & Intentional Fouls will result in an Automatic 2 points and the ball out-of-bounds for the opposing team.
  • No Protests Allowed-Officials Decisions Are Final.
  • To determine winners, we will go by team record, in the event of a tie, the winner will be the team allowing the average least number of points on defense on all games played.
  • Each team is to provide a knowledgeable person to work either the scorebook or clock for each of their games
