The Quad County League is about to begin our fifth season. It was formed to provide multiple games each week for area youth teams without having to pay for and go to tournaments. It is for the development of the area youth. The first couple of years, there were teams from Portage, Pardeeville, Waupun, Randolph, Cambria-Friesland, Rio, Wisconsin Dells, Montello and Westfield. This represents the four (Quad) counties involved in the league, Marquette, Columbia, Dodge & Sauk counties. We hope to get more teams involved in upcoming years.
Our desire in forming the Quad County League is to give children from area communities the opportunity to play many games without large expenses and long travel. We do this by scheduling boys and girls teams in fourth, fifth & sixth grades to play on weekends from early December until mid-February when they are able. Different communities will host games, so as many teams get to travel or host as they wish. The only expense to the program is that each team that plays, helps defray the costs of the referees each week. Each team gets to play two games each Saturday they choose and the costs are very minimal.
Coach feedback indicated that the best part of this league was not having to call around to schedule games or find referees... it was all done for them.We look forward to building on our first year and want to thank Kris Skolarz for all her hard work in getting this organized and going! Thanks to all the communities that got involved and made the program a success.
Let's make the 2012-2013 year even better!
